SAT

The SAT is the standardised exam used for bachelor’s admissions in the USA, but some universities in Italy, Hungary, Türkiye and other countries also accept it. The exam is digital and taken at a test centre using the Bluebook app.

Exam structure

• Reading and Writing — 2 modules, 200–800 points
• Math — 2 modules, 200–800 points; calculators are allowed
• The second module of each section becomes harder or easier depending on your performance in the first

Where is it required?

• US universities (some are test-optional, but a strong SAT score improves your chances)
• Some English-taught bachelor’s programmes in Italy (instead of TOLC)
• Some universities in Türkiye and Türkiye Scholarships applications
• An advantage in scholarship-based admissions

Preparation tips

• Start preparing at least 3 months in advance
• Use College Board’s free Bluebook practice tests
• Identify your weak topics in maths early
