Fulbright is the US government’s most prestigious international educational exchange programme. The Fulbright Foreign Student Program gives citizens of Azerbaijan the opportunity to study for a master’s degree at US universities. Applications are made through the US Embassy in Azerbaijan.

Who can apply?
- Citizens of Azerbaijan
- Holders of a bachelor’s degree
- Those with a good command of English (TOEFL / IELTS)
- Those with leadership potential and clear academic goals
- Those who accept the obligation to return to Azerbaijan for 2 years after their studies
Required documents
- Online application form and essays (Study Objective, Personal Statement)
- 3 reference letters
- Diplomas and transcripts (with English translation)
- English language certificate
- GRE / GMAT for some programmes
Application period
The application period and deadline are announced each year by the US Embassy; you need to apply about 1–1.5 years before your studies begin. Sequence: application → interview → university placement (by IIE) → result.
